Sugar and spice, all in one night! Jessica Simpson went from a demure, full-length dress to a sizzling mini within hours on Tuesday, January 12, in NYC.
The Jessica Simpson Collection designer, 35, first modeled a long, purple lace dress, which she teamed with nude sandals and a rose-gold clutch for the 2016 YMA Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner at the Marriott Marquis Times Square, where she was honored for her contributions to fashion. (The scholarship supports aspiring designers.)
On succeeding in the industry, Simpson told Us, "I really think it's only about believing in yourself and just going with your gut and knowing to trust it. I have had so many different visions in my life and I trust them and they come to fruition. And here I am."

Plus, it helps having the "best father on the planet" as a partner. "I don’t know what I’d do without him," she shared. "He has so much perspective, and he allows me to be just a little bit whacky and crazy and have weird ideas and see them come through."
After the ceremony, Simpson let loose! The mom of Maxwell, 3, and Ace, 2, slipped into a long-sleeved LBD with sheer panels and webbed booties for dinner at rustic Italian eatery Emporio with her husband, Eric Johnson.
